For the fifth time, Advanced Financial Services (AFS) has been recognized as one of the top 50 best small and medium companies to work for in America by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Great Place to Work Institute, Inc. (GPTW). Winners were announced this morning at SHRM’s 61st Annual Conference in New Orleans, the largest gathering of HR professionals in the world. SHRM and GPTW have revealed the nation’s top 25 small and top 25 medium-sized employers for the last six years. Advanced Financial Services placed 19th in the medium-sized category. “Given the unprecedented turmoil that has rocked the financial markets this past year, our recognition by SHRM/GPTW, and most of all our employees, is more fulfilling than any of our prior year’s awards,’ said Kurt Noyce, president of Advanced Financial Services. “It isn’t as easy to invest in your employees when times are tough, but our leadership team found ways, and this honor is a credit to them. I am humbled and encouraged by our employees’ continual vote of confidence.” Hundreds of companies across the United States submitted entries in the very detailed and competitive analysis conducted by GPTW. The rankings are primarily determined from employee opinion surveys that analyze an organization’s workplace culture. Employee-survey responses count for two-thirds of an organization’s score. The evaluation process also includes the assessment of organization practices and perspectives from the leadership team, which accounted for one-third of the group’s score. Full coverage of the award ceremony and other details are available at www.shrm.org. The organizations will also be listed at www.greatplacetoworkinstitute.com and www.cnnmoney.com.
